Install Benchmark

Put Benchmark on your home screen so it launches like a native app, with native microphone, camera, and notification permissions.

✓ Benchmark is already installed on this device. You can launch it from your home screen.

Your browser supports one-tap install. Tap above.

iPhone or iPad Your device Safari

iOS requires installing manually via Safari — there's no one-tap option.

  1. Open this page in Safari (not Chrome — iOS won't install from Chrome).
  2. Tap the Share button at the bottom of Safari.
  3. Scroll down and tap "Add to Home Screen."
  4. Tap Add in the top-right corner.
  5. The icon appears on your home screen. Tap it to launch.

iOS won't give the app its own permissions entry — microphone, camera, and location are still managed under Settings → Safari.

Android phone Your device Chrome

If you didn't see the "Install" button above, the easy path:

  1. Open this page in Chrome.
  2. Tap the menu (top-right).
  3. Tap "Install app" (sometimes shown as "Add to Home Screen").
  4. Confirm Install.

After install, open Settings → Apps → Benchmark on your phone. Benchmark now has its own permissions for microphone, camera, and location — separate from Chrome.

Note: Brave, Firefox, and Samsung Internet don't reliably show the install option. Use Chrome.

Desktop (Mac / Windows / Linux) Your device Chrome / Edge
  1. Open this page in Chrome or Edge.
  2. Look in the address bar for the install icon (a small monitor/screen icon, often on the right side). Click it and choose Install.
  3. Or open the browser menu → Install Benchmark.

Safari on Mac (Sonoma+) also supports install: File → Add to Dock.

Not seeing the install option?

A few common reasons:

  • In-app browser: If you opened this link from Facebook, Instagram, or text-message preview, you're inside a stripped-down browser. Tap the menu and choose "Open in browser" first.
  • Already installed: Check your home screen and app drawer.
  • Private/Incognito mode: PWAs can't be installed from private browsing. Switch to a normal window.
  • Wrong browser: Use Chrome on Android, Safari on iOS. Other browsers may not show install.
  • Need engagement first: On rare cases Chrome wants a few seconds of interaction before offering install. Tap around, then re-check the menu.
